What we're up to...

We’ve been here for over a week now. Our ‘bosses’ have been putting us to work. We ‘report’ everyday to Julia and Robbie Parker. They live here on the base with their 3 children. She is originally from England and he is a Kiwi. They met at her DTS when he was on staff.

God has been challenging us with many tasks! I love to cook, but I’m not a very good baker. That was my first task and has been multiple times. I’ve been baking pastries, cookies, brownies and bread for the base and for the DTS student’s camping trip this past weekend. On another occasion Rainer and I, both being non-coffee drinkers, worked a day at the café in town. We learned how to make dozens of coffee drinks from a fancy machine and served customers all day. Driving on the left, with a manual has also been challenging. We’ve both been challenged in various ways.

This is an amazing country geographically. We live in rolling green hills and countryside, and just 20 minutes from a beautiful white sandy beach!

YWAM has a ministry in the local town Maungaturoto called "Epic Kids". It's an after school program for the local children. We attended the year-end celebration roast. This is the conference group "Island Breeze" showing their dance performace that is their ministry all throughout South Pacific islands.
