We are in Kenya and all settled now. We have had three days volunteering and going to programs. God has used us already in so many ways. We are looking forward to our two months here and the relationships that we will build. We are here with ACTS organization, African Christian Tours & Safaris. Two years ago they started an arm of the company to integrate volunteers, faith and the local programs that they are connected with. We are living in a great house (where I stayed when I visited before) and ACTS provides transportation, groceries, dinners on weeknights, and scheduling of our program visits in coordination with needs.
Rainer and I have done all sorts of things: chopped wood for the moms to cook with, sharpened lots of pencils for the classrooms, handed out 300 loaves of bread at a feeding program, served porridge, shucked a whole bag of corn, painted fences, labeled and handed out new books at a preschool, participated in a bible study in the slum, and more. God is so present here in Kenya. There are many believers. Rainer and I are learning so much about the Kenyian culture and are so blessed by God. We will share more details as the weeks pass of each program, our house, the kids, recreation and more. Thanks for all the prayers.

Pat Dixon, a British lady, does a feeding program every other week that feeds 300+ families. Rainer and I will be helping with it while we are here. We passed out the bread today. I learned how to say "May God bless you" in Swahili.

Stirring the spinach for lunch.

Bryan, my brother, does a fantastic annual fundraiser supporting the Limuru Children's Center. This year it was "Paddle for the Kids". Here are Rainer and Patrick, the Center's director, wearing the t-shirts.

After we shucked the corn, the kids are to pick off the kernels for the next day's lunch.

Rainer's blonde leg and arm hair is a hit! The kids all come up and rub it!!
