Marriage Seminar

God challenged us this week. In many ways. Only married 4 months (almost) and we were asked to do a marriage seminar! We talked to about 30 Care for AIDS clients on Friday. Rainer and I spent hours preparing the talk on 'what God's word says about marriage'. We read 1 Peter 3:1-7 and Ephesians 5:22-33, along with many other references.

I spoke to the women about how God has called us to act as wives, and Rainer did the same for the men. We spoke, with a translator, for about 40 minutes and followed it with questions. Alot of the things we mentioned were new ideas and challenges for this group. We also answered alot of questions dealing with issues where culture/traditions comes into marriage and what the bible says about it. We continued to direct them to God's word, that his law is above those of this world. We had questions of having mutiple wives, sex, paying dowries, divorce and other hot topics. Overall it was an amazing time and our hosts said the clients really learned alot and enjoyed the seminar and discussions.
