From here to there
With our program, all transportation is provided to our projects and group activities. When Rainer and I go out to dinner or get rides to get on the internet, etc. we pay a taxi driver. You get a real feeling for what Kenya is really like while driving around. First, the roads are horrible here- potholes on dirt or pavement that could swallow small cars, dry red dust that makes Rainer sneeze like crazy, lots of people and donkeys in the way, and so many speed bumps- made from dirt, pavement or stones. Second- when we drive to/from Nairobi and to/from Kibera, we get to see a lot of small villages, slums, and lots of funny signs and interesting scenes.
