Jump Started!

Four days after our Honeymoon, we got a jump start to our trip. Untold to us, we were supposed to be at training camp for Reign ministries in Lewistown, IL ONE WEEK earlier than we thought. God needed us earlier than we planned, so we adjusted and left Johnson City at 5am. We drove to REI in Nashville… where we probably were their best customers that week. We loaded up on all the gear and clothing we need for 6 months… all in one backpack. For Christmas last year, Lindsey’s parents gave us some awesome backpacks for our trip. Here’s a photo….


After 2.5 hours in REI, we were on route to Clarksdale. An hour in, an ant crawled up my leg in the truck. At the gas station break, we discovered THOUSANDS of ants in the cab, coming from two nests! It was so gross! Rainer was amazing and took over and cleaned the little guys out of there.

We stayed up until mid-night packing down all we had bought, brought and thought we needed for our trip, all across the Powell’s Rec room. Then at 4am we were up! The Powells graciously volunteered to take us up to Illinois for training camp. We had a sleepy but nice ride, trying to find Lewistown on the map! We made it just in time for training to begin.
