The Trip

Only a couple months into Rainer and me dating, we not only knew we were blessed by God and meant to spend our lives together, but we also knew that we were called to serve the Lord by traveling overseas. When I told Rainer of my desire to return to Kenya and other places around the globe, he simply replied “I’ll go anywhere with you.”

And so it began. We started researching Christian mission organizations. We prayed for direction and wisdom. God opened so many doors and closed others, telling us where we should be. Slowly our schedule began coming together, our applications were accepted into programs and we were putting away savings for the trip.

Here is the plan:

June, July and first half of August- Reign Ministries, traveling through Western Europe leading students doing evangelism, growing in discipleship, leadership and learning the Word

End of August- we will have three weeks ‘off’ traveling through Switzerland, Italy and then Greece, where my parents will be joining us

September and October- ACTS in Kenya, we will be working for two months with a local orphanage, with slum ministry, Care for Aids and other programs

November- Heaven Sent Ministries, living with church families and working with short-term missionary projects set up by local churches in Sydney, Australia

December- Mission Builders International, we will live and work for three weeks at a dairy farm on the upper island of New Zealand at a camp where missionaries come to train
