Reign Ministries- first week at Training Camp

We’ve been here one week now and it’s so wonderful. Reign Ministries has been around since 1981. Royal Servants is their arm for summer mission trips for students. Two other parts of Reign are Kairos, a 10 month discipleship training school, and a similar type program in the UK.

Rainer and I are the only people on Senior Staff that have not been involved with Reign before, but we are getting to know everyone and learning the way they do things. I compare it to a camp setting, where people come back every year. It’s exciting to be a part of something where God is visibly working and has been for years.

Our roles and our team member Amanda’s role are logistical. We have a team leader Curtis, who ‘hired’ us and is a great guy. His family will be joining us. He is on Reign full-time staff and lives in Florida. I am in charge of the food- everything from planning the meals, buying food in budget and overseeing the kitchen for every meal (we teach the summer staff and students how to cook the meals). Rainer is handling the finances- exchanging money and keeping the books. And Amanda is our med person, giving out prescriptions and handling health issues.

Here is our set-up:

This is Amanda, our other assistant leader on Euroquest

It's amazing the cooking process for all these people. These two grills put out over 120 burgers in less than an hour!- Rainer helped with that meal! (more later on the food)

The blue tent by the woods is our tent. We were just told to move it there yesterday ... 'honeymoon clause'... they gave us grace as we were less than 1 foot from all tents around us. We moved to the married section.

Same image, backed up. Each team has rows of tents

Larger view. Our tent WAS on the very left of this image. The big white tents are for team cooking when all 390 people get here, we cook with just our group

This is the 'big top' where we did food packing for the trips (we will take 12 boxes of food, mostly peanut butter and some pasta and sauces, but we will buy most food at 'costco' type stores over there- I'll have a budget each day and make it stretch). This will also be where we have worship with the big group
