McDonalds...

Just a note on McDonalds. Anyone (well anyone like Rainer and I) who has traveled overseas for a while, eventually craves an American cheeseburger (and not Mr. Burgerland, McBurger, or 'come here, we serve the all-american burger' restuarants in Europe) and french fries. This of course is easily fixed by one of the many McDonalds in every descent size city in the world. Not to mention, as you would imagine, we don't get 'alot' of meat when our budget averages $50 a day for the entire group, for three meals... so we crave some meat!

Well, we have noticed something interesting with the McDonalds advertising as we have gone through 12 countries now in 15 days. In each country, the 'special item' they are promoting is different... and not usually sold in the US. For all interested, here are the current promotions in Europe at McDonalds:

Germany- fried shrimp plates and fried shrimp wraps
Czech Republic- grilled chicken(it's not usually on the menu)
Poland- 'California style' (a bunch of veggies on top the burger)
Austria- Ciabatta bread burgers
